We had the meatballs, Sautéed Calamari and Artichokes, and buratta for appetizers, and salmon, spinach lasagna, veal, and leg of lamb. Everyone was very happy. Besides the great food, the place was fun, and the staff was professional and friendly. It's an awesome birthday dinner! ”

“ Looks small from the outside, but is spacious and comfortable. The food and cocktails are all quite good. I went for a birthday dinner, so I cannot speak to what is available on the full menu, but all of the passed appetizers and dinner were well prepared and delicious. Mini pizzas, sliders, polenta w mushrooms....mmmm. Farfalle w lobster was well repared and so delicious as was the swordfish with spinach. This is not too far from the theater district and would be a nice option for a pre theater meal. The service, including the bartender, maitre'd etc were all friendly and accomodating. ”

“ ViceVersa is in a great location, has a nice interior, great table service, and pretty good italian food. They start us off with as much sourdough and focaccia as we like. The sourdough was pretty good but the focaccia was fantastic. I had the gnocchi with mushrooms garlic sauce and a fondue to top it off. The presentation was very nice and they drizzled the sauce on top tableside. The leftover fondue was left at the table for extra cheesiness if you care for it. The gnocchi was cooked perfectly, nice and pillowy. The mushrooms were sautéed with some butter and had a nice crisp that was delightful. The dish was slightly on the saltier side however. The lasagnas verde bolognese is not your traditional lasagna, but still good in its own right. The spinach pasta was a nice twist and worked well with the bolognese which was meaty with a nice tomato creaminess. The cheese tied it together for a great bite the presentation was lacking as the lasagna started sliding apart. I also felt like this dish needed a side of some sort. The duck ragu pasta was the most lacking dish. It was a bit salty and lacking in amount of duck. The homemade pasta was great and cooked perfectly though. For the price, its definitely a nice choice for good italian food in the area before catching a show at lincoln center. ”

“ I come here once a year with my husband and we've made it our special little date night spot in the fall. The entrees change but we always get the arancini (rice balls) and the meat balls as appetizers, wow incredible. The entrees are hit or miss though and we're not typically excited for the desserts, nothing mind blowing to choose from. The staff are very professional and friendly and they always ask if you're heading to a show afterwards. ”

“ ViceVersa is a charming Italian restaurant on 51th Street in the garden level of a lovely building. This block has the potential to be a smaller Restaurant Row, with Ippudo anchoring the northeast side, Dolly Varden across the street, and Uogashi further down. I see a lot of potential on this cozy, quiet street. A quick note about happy hour: glasses of wine and house cocktails are half off from 4-8 PM, provided you sit on the bar side, rather than the restaurant side. I think beer might also qualify for happy hour but I didn't see the "fine print" anywhere so go ahead and ask. This is a very good deal for midtown and reminiscent of Hell's Kitchen's pre-pandemic glory days. My girlfriend and I were celebrating a special occasion. We started on the bar side for cocktails then hopped over to a table for dinner. Complimentary bread was so good we almost asked for a second basket; thankfully we did not as the pasta portions were large. The grilled octopus appetizer consists of a delicious tentacle served with fresh micro-greens and a potato/red pepper salad. Bursting with flavor and grilled just right. This starter was surprisingly light and established a good mood that would last the rest of the meal. Any time a restaurant boasts about their house-made pasta, I want to put it to the test. The gnocchi receives high marks; I might have liked the pasta texture to be a little firmer. Also could have done with more mushrooms. The casoncelli was an experience, a ravioli-type dish somewhere between a dumpling and cinnamon toast, topped with sensationally succulent fried pancetta chunks. The flavor profile is out there but if you've got an inquisitive palate this is a good dish for you. Too full for dessert! We finished off our bottle of chianti and paid the bill. Prices are normal for good-quality sit-down Italian food in this part of the city. The decor is also quite nice and the service was polite. I could see myself eating here again. ”
